Oscar the intern…NOT DEAD AFTERALL!!

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Young Oscar Wilder the Intern has been on a 4 month hiatus and has finally decided to come back to the beehive. After all school will only get you so far. Oscar has also redone his intern blog, all work no pay. Me and Oscar spent the day, updating the facebook, and myspace and blog layout. Then i ask how his cousin is doing and he tells me this about him.

Coraline Dunks

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

I got a little gift the other day. The Coraline dunks! Nike’s little side project. Bobby already described them so, i’ll leave it alone

“These are the CORALINE Nike Dunks.  Inspired by Laika’s first full-length animated film, Coraline, directed by the same guy who did The Nightmare Before Christmas, Henry Selick.  The film actually looks pretty spectacular in its cinematic effects, and that magic translates nicely to the shoes’ handcrafted construction.  The high-end canvas has a turned edge and the seams are hand-sewn, resulting in each pair being unique.  The sole is glow-in-the-dark and the liner is sublimated with stars, corresponding to certain elements of the movie. Plus, the oversized buttons that adorn the sneakers were designed by Selick himself and only exist on 100 pairs.

My pair came with actual props from the film, some crazy cotton-candy things, and the Dunks are decorated as cat and mouse characters from the film.  These are 1 of only 50 pairs like this in the world.

You might be able to get your hands on a pair as well… watch Coraline when it hits theaters February 6th, stay until after the credits, then visit Coraline.com to find out how.  “

I see these on ebay going for $6,000 right now.

Rob! thank you! see u in Portland next week!

Abington Shoes

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Abington is a line that Timberland has resurrected.  That quality it top notch.

I finally got to see these boots inperson. They came out last fall and i have been wanting them since. The models are all cut from the famous leathers of Horween Leather Company out of Chicago, who’ve been in business for more than 100 years.

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

I’ve been having some issues with my flash up loader, so the blog has been on ugly step child mode. Sorry for abandoning you. Here’s a quick break down of friday-sunday.

Back at Agenda in SD day 2

Hell raiser Bam!

CHAD MUSKA!

I like benny golds BB skin.

Danny boy from house of pain is gangsta!

We didn’t have a sign for half the trade show.

Mink hooked us up with one. Thanks…

My man Joe from AVNTGRDE checking out our neighbors Ludwig.

Green Apple Tree had some ill cut and sew.

Look out!

My two favorite booth designs at Agenda are:

STUSSY

and INCASE

Those blurry red and blue bags on the right side are the HUF x INCASE and DQM x INCASE messenger/skate bags. Which I think will have every person drolling for ballistic nylon goodness.

After 3 days of Agenda and no internet I was more happy then ever to get onto a plane with Wi-Fi.

Fly Virgin!

Paul from Zune picked Ben and I up at the airport and we headed over to Ben’s family resturant in Newark. Sea bass is on point!

Live From Agenda in San Diego

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Hey folks. Its that time of year where all of the industry congregates in sunny San Diego to put on a show. Its more prevalent then ever how tough the times are. A lot of buyers aren’t at the show. Why? ’cause there out of business. The commonality is that every company is suffering in one way or another and i don’t think many companies will be in business at the end of the year.

anyways

I’m going to show you guys some new brands that are that show and some house hold ones to give you some perspective on what a trade show looks like.

Here’s a new brand Aerial7. They quality of the sound and construction of these head phones are beautiful. Here’s a model that i like. Check them out.

Himmy

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

My homie Shingo from Himmy Brand (a high quality Japanese  label), came by the office a few weeks back to do an interview for a magazine that he has a column in. I immediately fell in love with this quilted leather arm stadium jacket that he had on. I need one in my life! See you in Japan Shingo!

and whats goes well with a Himmy, a HomeRoom hoodie!

Hermes belt buckle.

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

I like this Hermes belt buckle. It so hard to come up with a simple H logo. Because, they are almost all going to relate to one of 3 things Hermes, Huf, or Harvard.
