Trend for 2008: Common sense is back.

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

In 2008 I saw a collapse of the system. What was once a guaranteed promise of the abundant American dream started to shrivel up into the American nightmare. The year has been a reality check for most Americans. We have seen over inflated housing and gas prices drop back down to reality, the over saturation of carbon copy clothing retailers and fashion labels start to peel away.  The financial troubles that beckon billion dollar bailouts came to fruition, to keep the confidence of citizens roaring through the most crucial part of the fiscal year; the holidays. We have now embarked on reality that will keep unveiling itself as we keep watching.  Embrace turbulence and make the sensible decisions. Common sense is back.
2009 will be the best year yet and will bring the best out of everyone in our industry. In the toughest time, the strong survive.

After all, the topic for 2008 was underdogs coming out on top (Obama).  I think that spirit will carry over into 2009 just as well.

Fam!

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Once a year i have to stop my self from the busy work days, traveling and reflect on whats really important. There’s nothing more important than family and spending time with those who have your back, no mater what your life imposes on them.

I will never again watch sports unless its in a luxury suite. Now if i can do something about the 2 hours it takes to get onto the freeway after the game.

Redwing 875 For Nom De Guerre

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

There are 3 main ingredients to a nice wardrobe for the winter; a heavy field jacket, a pair of 14oz and up denim and a nice pair of boots.

These “Redwing 875 For Nom De Guerre” take the cake. They will be dropping at Nom De Guerre store in NYC the day after X-mas for $280 something. A little weird to drop it after xmas, but all good. Give me mine, i need these, they go with my Nom De Guerre glasses.

I don’t know what’s better. Is it the concept, the CGI, or the concrete house?

What could be bigger???

If you could see any two artist work together who would you like to see?

Prince and Michael Jackson?

The Beatles and Nirvana?

Elvis and Rage Against the Machine?

Kanye West and The Rolling Stones?

Well is you picked Yezzy and The Stones…well its your lucky day. I have taken the liberty to share the wealth [here]

thankful

Friday, December 19th, 2008

Someone asked me today what i would do if i had a million dollaz! Well i don’t really know. I feel like I got everything I need right now. Except… i can’t really decide whether i should get an i-phone or the Blackberry Storm??? email me if you found a way that you can sync your Blackberry to mark the forwarded emails as unread with out logging into your email account via the web (alval@homeroomclothing.com).

Back to the topic. If i had a million bucks…I wouldn’t buy a house. I think its a stupid investment right now. I would go and get a pair of Lanvin kicks. Perhaps maybe even an English bulldog so he can eat all those hipster french bulldogs…

I would like to buy my mom a vaction home in europe, i think she’d like that and i would take the rest of the money and donate it to people that need it more then me. I’m pretty happy with my life an thankful for everything. Money isn’t everything, family is though!
