Slim and co.

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

If you listened to hip-hop radio in the late 90’s the group 112 should be imprinted in your memories. Slim from 112 was the front man of the group…

Well  Niko is the cousin of Slim from 112. Through Niko I have became friends with Slim and have found an appreciation for traveling artists. Slim is campaigning right now, like Obama (was last month), promoting his album. To some the traveling  sounds fun. But, take it from me, living out of a suitcase and going to 3 cities in one day is not cool. With the music industry changing, the new way for artists to make bucks is to hit the tour, since free music is the standard now.

Slim’s album dropped last Tuesday and i had to go out and support him.

Any girls want to come listen to it? jk.

HOMEROOM LA

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

About 8 months ago when i went down to LA for a sales trip I met Ben Wang. We kept in touch and got to thinking of how we can work together. This past tradeshow season he hit me with the idea of a HomeRoom store in LA with Reason NYC, that him and his company Dub Frequency would help out with!

I thought it was a great idea!

The shop will be open for only 2 months during the holiday season, today at 1pm untill 1/15/2009. I will be there today and tomorrow to introduce the new HomeRoom line and answer any questions.

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Back of all HomeRoom printable’s

All of our tees come with a 3m logo hit, that will keep you visible yat night from cars, weather your riding your bike, or just crossing the street.

Class in Session

Don’t be silly kids, her hit stick brings all the boys to the yard. Yet with those Catholic school prices and our tight economy, a “Class in Session” piece is definitely the best purchase you can make.

This shirts is a combed 100% cotton 6 ounce tee. The print is water based, with the HomeRoom logo printed in 3M reflective ink on the back.

Photo Copy
Whether its M.C Escher or M.C Hammer, the “Photocopy” keeps going and going and going, kinda like that Energizer fellow without the fur.

This shirts is a combed 100% cotton 6 ounce tee. The print is water based, with the HomeRoom logo printed in 3M reflective ink on the back.

GET PAID

At the end of the day, you gotta get paid. Taking some hints from the throwback days of starter caps, little league gloves and white ford broncos; the “Get Paid” joint proves that payday comes sooner or later.

This crew neck sweatshirt is 100% combed cotton. The Print is water based, with the HomeRoom logo printed in 3M reflective ink on the back.

Fine Tailored Goods

You can’t have fine tailored goods without first having them finely tailored. So the highly trained team of magical interns worked all night to produce a testament of our hard work.

This hoodie is a combed 100% cotton. The print is water based, with the HomeRoom logo printed in 3M reflective ink on the back.

Each One, Teach One

Instilling the youth with pride and lessons of empowerment to this day, “Each one, Teach one” represents the aim towards promoting revolutionary thought, plus it sounds quite intellectual.

This shirts is a combed 100% cotton 6 ounce tee. The print is water based, with the HomeRoom logo printed in 3M reflective ink on the back.

Slayer 9000

The HomeRoom camp busts out another abstract piece for the faithful, cause all previous 8,999 versions are now sold out.

This shirts is a combed 100% cotton 6 ounce tee. The print is water based, with the HomeRoom logo printed in 3M reflective ink on the back.

SELF EDGE

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

I like denim, Japanese narrow shuttle loom denim, made on antique levis looms. I have tons of it. Its the only thing that i collect now. I keep collecting with the intentions of one day breaking in all of them myself. In my closet are 2 pairs of 21 oz Iron Hearts, a slim and loose fit (one almost broken in, one on ice), one pair of 4001 Flatheads (destroyed), one pair of Samurais (destroyed) and now my second pair of Sugar Canes which i intend to destroy as well. The good folks at SELFEDGE gifted me with whats going to be my new favorite pair of denim.

Made from 50% sugar cane fibers and 50% cotton, this denim has a unique feel and wear. The texture of the denim is uncommon and is a trademark of the Sugar Cane company. The addition of sugar cane fibers eaves this denim smelling sweet!

That’s a buffalo leather tag.

The front pocket sacks are made from a material that was so new to me. It was silky yet, it was cotton with a  tunnel like weave. Kiya let me know that it’s the same fabric that is used in world quality Kimonos; Japanese Sun Stripe fabric.

See the tunnel like weave?

Chain stiched and ready to be destroyed!

and my favorite detail.

There’s nothing worse then having your crotch blow out on you and your “wee wee” fall out. That’s why Kiya put a re-inforcement on the crotch. Smart!

TRACK BIKE TIMES

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

My homie Vince from The Social Standard showed me this video today. I’m glad to see more film makers documenting bike culture in SF.

Look to the left and click on “Bike SF” its for a good cause!

Store update

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

The HomeRoom store has been updated with our best season of cut and sew to date!

THE PORTMAN

When I was 6 living in Vienna , Austria I met a girl named Jane, when my family moved to Italy I was surprised to run into Jane again and once more when I attend school in Brooklyn. Faith has it out for us. As kids we got into as much trouble as we could and as adults we still do. Jane’s last name is Portman and she’s still a menace just like this Jacket.

The jacket is made of 100% cotton Fleece and inspired by a vintage motorcycle jacket. The fit is standard and the cuffs of the jacket are engineered with thumb holes for those cold nights. Comes in Black or Heather Grey

FLANNEL EAST VERSION 2

This classic piece is in high demand. Last time we released our pink flannel we sold out of them in one day. This is version 2 of the HomeRoom flannel.

A high quality piece that is made of contrasting storm flaps on the shoulders and on the chest pockets. A hit on the pocket flap that says HomeRoom and your ready to go!

What makes more sense then for HomeRoom to do school cardigan? We kept it slick with the military colorway and the detailed patches such as the satirized military patch on the right arm. The custom buttons on the cardigan where picked through a survey on the HomeRoom blog. Enjoy!

This cardigan 100% cotton and is made from the finest yarns. Its designed to be worn in and last you a life time.

SCHOOLS OUT

PERFECT 10 WOOL

We like to keep it simple and refined. Taking a timeless wool approach to a defined HomeRoom classic. The contrast of brownish and grayish hues through out the body has a great texture and is eye catching.

The Jacket is made of a wool blend and is not itchy. I wear mine with just tee shirt underneath. The draw cords are made from 100% genuine leather and the hardware has a gunmetal finish. The ribbing is of the highest quality as well, which is matched with the high quality of taped seam construction. This is a perfect 10.

PERFECT 10 CONTRAST

We wanted to make something that would capture the eye with out being bright. It’s subtle contrast that makes this rugged denim hoodie a favorite at HomeRoom.

Made from 100% cotton denim the weft of the fabric is white and the warp is dyed various shades of grayish blue. The ribbing and cuffs are comprised of fabric fused around and elastic band. The construction is seamless and the zipper is tapped off to give it a clean look. The draw cord is a plaid shoe lace that matches the plaid rivving and hoodie lining.

HOUSING

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I’ve spent the last 3 days in San Jose which is 30mins south of San Francisco if i’m driving. This is where we house and print our stuff. San Jose is a unique place. Its 80 degrees all year round and home to my favorite taste; La Victorias special orange sauce (made from something good mmmm!).

But, its also where a lot of work goes down.

like 1. design finishing for the summer 09

2. shipping (peep the collection up above…on the menu bar)

3. our billing

4. life lessons
